A pre and post energy evaluation is required to take part in the Canada Greener Homes Grant. Register online or through Greener Home Portal or by calling 1-833-674-8282.
- When registering you will be required to fill out the homeowner personal information as well as provide a property tax roll number for your primary residence.
- Next, you will have the option to choose DW Energy Advisors Inc as your Service Organization. Green Wave Consultants is proud to work through DW as our Service Organization.
- You will then be contacted by an Energy Advisor to book your pre-energy evaluation.
Step 2: Plan, Document and Complete Your Home Retrofits
- After your evaluation you will receive EnerGuide reports, including the Renovation Upgrade Report (RUR) and Homeowner Information Sheet (HIS). The RUR will outline a pathway for your renovation upgrade journey.
- You will need to complete at least one retrofit that is both eligible and recommended. You can find your home’s recommendations in your RUR and on the Greener Homes Portal.
- Retain all your receipts for upgrades as they will be required for rebate approval.
Step 3: Post-retrofit EnerGuide Evaluation
Step 4: Receive Your Reimbursement
- Once your renovations are complete you can book your post-retrofit EnerGuide Evaluation.
- You will also need to provide receipts for all energy efficiency upgrades completed.
- Documentation is required to be uploaded to the portal to complete the reimbursement process.
- You will then receive a new EnerGuide label and a post-evaluation report that will show you how much more energy-efficient your home has become.
Step 4: Receive Your Reimbursement
- Before reimbursement is finalized, you will need to confirm your grant total in the portal. This is the last step before you receive your cheque.
- Make sure that you read all eligibility criteria and grant requirements to be sure that you qualify for reimbursement at the end of the process. The program offers up to $600 after completing both the mandatory pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide home evaluation, as well as up to $5,000 in rebates for energy efficiency upgrades completed between the two evaluations.
